Once you inquire, I’ll send a short questionnaire to learn more about your vision, theme, and preferences. If we’re a great fit, we’ll choose a session date that works best for you. To reserve your date, a 50% non refundable retainer are required. You’ll receive an invoice to make it official! The remaining balance will be due one week before your session date. Two weeks after your Cake Smash session, you’ll receive a curated online gallery of 40+ hand-processed images. You’ll have the opportunity to view and purchase prints and products directly from the gallery. Melanie’s carefully crafted images will be ready to cherish, with the option to order custom keepsakes like albums or prints to display in your home.
Final Images

This package does not include any print products how ever clients will have the option to purchase images through the same professional print lab that I use at a discounted price or they may print at whatever lab they see fit.

Approximately 2 weeks after your session, you will receive a curated gallery featuring at least 40 of the best, images from your Cake Smash session.
Why are your cake smash sessions so much less than a regular session?
We love Cake Smash sessions, but they differ from our standard photography work. These sessions are more candid, with minimal posing and editing, and do not include a reveal or ordering appointment. Digital images are included in the package, but prints and products are not. For a limited time, we are offering exclusive, all-inclusive pricing, with the option to purchase additional products through an online gallery.
Can I do a Cake Smash Session without a cake and get that price?
Yes. But only if your child is 1 year of age or about to have his/her 1-year birthday.
Do you provide the cake?
If you prefer to bring your own cake, please ensure that the colors and theme align with your session.
Here are a few recommendations when choosing your cake:
- Fondant can be difficult for babies to break through and may pose a choking hazard—soft frosting is usually a better option.
- Avoid nuts or any ingredients that could be potential allergens.
- Always consider any dietary restrictions or allergies your child may have.
Will you provide the decorations?
We do have plenty of props at the studio, however, if you have any special requests, themes, or ideas we can not accommodate we may ask that you provide the specialized props you are requiring.
Can my 3 year old do a cake smash?
No. This is a limited edition session offered by our studio for 1-year-olds only. Feel free to inquire about our birthday specials that do not include a cake smash or bubble bath but are a great option for older children and toddlers.
Can I order prints or other products?
Yes. In your online gallery, you’ll have the option to purchase prints and products from the same professional print lab we trust. With prices starting at just $2.25, you won’t find this level of quality at such an affordable price anywhere else! We also offer beautifully crafted albums, a perfect way to showcase the images from your session.

Is there an additional cost to add a bubble bath at the end of the session?
No, there is no additional cost. All of our Cake Smash sessions include 3 photo sets:
- A pre-smash portrait photo set
- The cake smash photo set
- A fun bubble bath set with music and rubber duckies!
Can the rest of the family get in the picture?
No. This is not a family session, but if you’re interested in booking a family portrait session, I’d be happy to send you my pricing details.
What do I need to bring?
For the Cake Smash session, please bring an outfit for your little one, a towel, their favorite noisy toy, and some backup snacks like raisins, Cheerios, or puffs (believe it or not, we occasionally meet a baby who isn’t a fan of cake!).
When can I expect to see the images?
You will receive your gallery 2-3 wks from the date of the cake smash photoshoot.
How many photos will you produce?
We can never guarantee the exact number of photos from a shoot, as your little one is definitely in charge of the session!
Cake Smash sessions often include more photos since they require less editing. But you are guaranteed 40 images, however, I often deliver galleries with a lot more.
